ZyXEL Launches Industry’s First MU-MIMO RouterZyXEL Communications, a leading provider of secure broadband networking, Internet access and connected home products, today announced the launch of the NBG6815 AC2200 MU-MIMO Dual-Band Wireless Gigabit Router, the first in a series of affordable MU-MIMO Wave 2 solutions to be launched this year for consumers and SMB environments.

The NBG6815, the industry’s first AC2200 MU-MIMO Wave 2 product, is a high-performance dual-band 11ac router that delivers Gigabit-class wireless speeds up to 2,200 Mbps (1,733 Mbps on the 5 GHz band and up to 450 Mbps on 2.4 GHz) to optimize the performance of bandwidth-intensive applications in dense home and business environments. ZyXEL’s StreamBoost™ technology applies Smart QoS to automatically allocate the right amount of bandwidth to each network device to maximize the performance of applications such as video streaming, online gaming, and large file downloads.

Configuring settings and managing the network on the NBG6815 is made easy with ZyXEL One Connect. The robust and intuitive mobile app enables users to monitor and manage the network and connected devices from an iOS- or Android-based mobile device. One Connect gives users control of their networks by providing the ability to troubleshoot common issues with connected devices and block unknown intruding devices from the network.

The Internet of Things (IOT) is driving exponential growth in the emergence and adoption of smart devices that connect to home and business networks to enhance security, productivity and convenience,” stated Shawn Rogers, Market Development Manager at ZyXel. “Each of these devices uses precious network bandwidth which can impact the overall performance of the network. The NBG6815 combines MU-MIMO and Smart QoS technologies to maximize network performance even in these types of dense environments.”
