			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><img class="alignleft size-full wp-image-5146" title="Argela femtocell" src="http://4g-portal.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/05/Argela-femtocell-e1337282327461.png" alt="" width="143" height="92" />SUNNYVALE, Calif.&#8211;Argela, today announced its newest femtocell product – the Femto Notification Generator, FENG. Developed specifically for mobile network operators, the Femto Notification Generator is a key component for offering revenue-generating, value-added services through a femtocell network. Providing immediate data, FENG generates the femtocell-related notifications necessary for many femtocell services and location-based applications.</p>
<blockquote><p>“At Argela, we are continually innovating and developing new products to help operators and service providers optimize their networks”</p></blockquote>
<p>FENG detects these femtocell-related events by sniffing the operator’s network with the following standard interfaces: Iu-h, Iu-CS, A-Interface, and MAP. Some of the femtocell events which are detected include entries to and exits from the femtocell network in addition to femtocell registrations and deregistrations. After immediately detecting<strong> </strong>important femtocell events, Argela’s FENG then notifies Argela’s APPs-on Femto Application Server which in turn, immediately notifies the applications. Argela’s two products, the FENG Femto Notification Generator and Argela’s APPs-on Femto Application Server, work together as part of a complete femtocell application solution.</p>
<p>“We wanted to develop a solution that is independent from the femtocell and the femtocell gateway so that any mobile operator could offer value-added services and applications even after they have already deployed their femtocell service,” explained Argela’s VP of Sales, Mr. Oguz Oktay. “It is the notifications issued by our FENG product which enables operators to offer the location-based services and applications through their femtocell network. And, it is the applications which transform femtocells from a telecom device to a channel for revenue-generating services.”</p>
<p>Argela provides next-generation telecommunication solutions and network infrastructure software to telecom operators and offers a range of small cell products and solutions including femtocells powered by their SmartFemto technology. The Femto Notification Generator is the newest addition to the Small Cell product line and is a key product in Argela’s Femto Application Suite. As part of this Suite, Argela also offers femtocell applications including: PromoZone, Track-U and the award-winning, ADz-on Advertising Application.</p>
<p>“At Argela, we are continually innovating and developing new products to help operators and service providers optimize their networks,” said Mr. Bulent Kaytaz, Argela’s CEO. “The Femto Notification Generator is our most recent innovation enabling mobile operators to offer value-added femtocell applications. 			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><img class="alignleft size-full wp-image-2155" title="HUAWEI" src="http://4g-portal.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/09/HUAWEI-e1316613456615.png" alt="" width="143" height="88" />[Moscow, Russia, May 11, 2012]: Huawei and the Russian operator YOTA Networks today announced the successful launch of the first commercial LTE network in Moscow.</p>
<p>YOTA Networks is committed to providing its customers the best and fastest possible Mobile Broadband Internet experience in Russia. To keep its industry&#8217;s leadership in mobile broadband, YOTA Networks has decided to provide Mobile Broadband (MBB) based services enabled by a best of breed LTE network. As such, YOTA Networks selected Huawei as its preferred technology partner.</p>
<p>In terms of the project, Huawei supplies YOTA Networks with cutting-edge end-to-end SingleRAN LTE/EPC solution and built the commercial LTE network on 2.6GHz. The solution provides downlink peak rate of up to 70Mbps and 140Mbps depending on the capacity of the radio channel (10 or 20 MHz), showing excellent performance for mobile broadband networks.</p>
<p>Vice president of Key Customer Operation Department of Huawei in Russia, Ukraine and Belarus Sergey Varyukhin (Сергей Варюхин) said: &#8220;We are proud to be chosen as a partner of YOTA Networks, and further on we intend to support this operator in the launch of the most advanced services. Huawei has already realized a large number of projects of LTE commercial launch in many countries. The launch of such network in Moscow is a major step in the development of mobile broadband access market in Russia&#8221;.</p>
<p>The successful launch was preceded by all-round testing at April &#8211; May 2012 showed stable features and high availability of the operator’s network.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><strong><img class="alignleft size-full wp-image-1616" title="Alcatel-Lucent" src="http://4g-portal.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/08/Alcatel-Lucent1-e1314385530896.png" alt="" width="143" height="94" />TETRA World Congress (TWC), Dubai May 15, 2012 -</strong> Cassidian, an EADS company, and Alcatel-Lucent are to enhance safety and operations for public safety agencies, energy and transport companies with the launch of a new solution called ‘Evercor<sup>®</sup>’. Based on LTE technology, it enables the use of video, data and other media to improve the way the security professionals serve and protect their communities.</p>
<p>Evercor integrates Alcatel-Lucent’s 4G LTE mobile broadband with TETRA-based systems to form the first end-to-end integrated LTE 400 professional mobile radio (PMR) solution for the 380-470 MHz band – the frequency band currently used by public safety agencies and other essential services in many parts of the world. As a result it will support new broadband communications capabilities such as real-time video to complement existing radio systems. It also allows transport and energy companies using TETRA communications to benefit from mobile broadband applications.</p>
<p>Alcatel-Lucent and Cassidian are showing how Evercor enhances information-sharing between control centers and field operations at TETRA World Congress 2012 in Dubai. By delivering high-speed 4G LTE mobile broadband services such as enhanced location information and transmission of medical records to ‘smart’ emergency response vehicles, handheld tablet devices and control center systems, teams will be equipped with the vital information they need to rapidly prepare for and respond to any incident. This can improve safety and security for both the public and workers and allow teams to more quickly identify locations and respond to incidents.</p>
<p>The use of real-time video and data services will improve operations for those working in the transport and energy industries. Early warnings of outages and incidents will in turn result in faster response and reduced maintenance time and costs. For all companies using TETRA communications, the solution will enable cost-efficiencies, allowing them to re-use their existing sites and equipment.</p>
<p>Jean Marc Nasr, Head of Secure Communication Solutions at Cassidian said: “The launch of this innovative solution comes only a year since we announced the joint work program between Alcatel-Lucent and Cassidian and shows the real progress we’ve made to enhance operations for companies using the 400 MHz band. We are able to integrate these services within the Cassidian command-and-control collaborative suite of applications for our Public Safety and Defence users.”</p>

<p>The Evercor solution uses Alcatel-Lucent’s eNodeB base stations, wireless packet core and backhaul solutions, and Cassidian LTE 400 Remote Radio Head, terminals and applications. The LTE 400 eNodeB can be fitted into Cassidian’s new TB3S TETRA Base station. Working in the 400 MHz bands delivers advantages over communications in a higher frequency band. Fewer base stations are required to provide coverage to a comparable geographic area and communication is made more reliable inside buildings and within built up urban areas.</p>

<p>Smart cells are a new category of hybrid device developed through a strategic collaboration between Intel Corporation and Ubiquisys. They combine a cellular/WiFi small cell with an integrated, comms-tuned computing platform with local storage. In a fast-track development programme, the companies have already met a number of key milestones, including prototype demonstrations with live applications from third party developers.</p>

The solution has been designed around a step-by-step self-optimizing network (SON) framework that helps mobile operators ensure a safe transition from manual RAN optimization to automated self-optimization.</p>

<p>According to Cisco, mobile data traffic more than doubled in 2011. This dramatic demand for bandwidth has triggered a multitude of challenges for mobile operators. They are faced with not only controlling the costly RAN domain and reducing its impact on OPEX, but also managing a growing arsenal of 2G and 3G networks, which are being stretched to provide additional capacity. At the same time, they need to deliver network upgrade projects, such as transitioning to IP backhaul, and plan and roll out 4G/LTE networks, while assuring and improving quality of service (QoS) and quality of experience (QoE)—all with their existing resources.</p>
<p>InfoVista’s solution alleviates these pressures on mobile operators. VistaSON helps them safely transition from manual and suggestive network optimization with required human decision-making to a full, closed-loop, dynamic and automated practice based on pre-defined network conditions and approvals.</p>
<p><strong>Key Facts</strong></p>

<li>VistaSON is able to not only reduce the amount of human involvement required to manage RAN environments, but also measure the performance impact of network automations via an advanced visualization engine. It leverages Vista360®, InfoVista’s award-winning analytics and 2.0 reporting dashboard, to provide holistic views on the impact and savings introduced by the solution.</li>
<li>To deploy a SON solution that guarantees a quick return on investment (ROI), mobile operators need to be able to easily identify the areas of optimization that provide the maximum benefits. VistaSON includes unique network analytics and reporting engines, which allow mobile operators to proactively identify 2G, 3G and 4G/LTE “SON hotspots”. VistaSON analyzes key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify coverage holes, performance degradations, network overload and mobility patterns in handover and utilization.</li>
<li>Closely aligned with the SON requirements defined by the NGMN and adopted by 3GPP, the solution includes a set of out-of-the-box 2G, 3G and 4G/LTE use cases that are designed to rapidly enable the automation needed for the optimization and maintenance of the network lifecycle. These include Automatic Outage Detection &amp; Compensation, where antennas’ settings are adjusted to provide coverage when cell outages occur; Coverage &amp; Capacity Optimization, which monitors performance metrics and identifies weak coverage and capacity spots that can be optimized to improve QoE; Dynamic Load Balancing, which helps detect network load imbalances and congestion patterns to facilitate load distribution; and Green Networks Power Savings, where under-utilized network cells are placed into a ‘sleep mode’ during periods of very low traffic.</li>
