A new phase of work on Critical Communications specifications has started with the first meeting of 3GPP SA6 working group for Mission-critical applications.
SA6#1 meeting was held in Sorrento in the last week of January – covering many of the start–up aspects of the new group, but spending much time on drafting the first Technical Report (TR) under the group’s responsibility.

TR 23.779 now named the ‘Study on application architecture to support Mission Critical Push To Talk over LTE (MCPTT) services’ is being edited to identify the architecture needed to support MCPTT services based on the [Stage 1] requirements from existing 3GPP specifications, such as the Mission Critical Push to Talk MCPTT specification; TS 22.179.
